Where would you rather live, given same salary in each?

I would choose New York for this same reason, and I don't hate Los Angeles like a lot of other people on this board do....

New York. I would live in New Jersey before I would California.

I love LA. I go twice a year. frick that traffic. I also go to NYC at least once a year, and I love that Philly, Baltimore, and DC are only a train ride away.

I go to both 3-4 times a year. I would choose LA for the weather and the women.

That said, I have immediate family in NYC so it would be a tough call.

Never been to LA. Don't live in NYC unless you make 100k+ when you're in your 20s. Otherwise its not worth the drop in quality of life from SELA. Laundry? Hope you like the laundromat. Dishwasher? Fuggaboutit. Central AC? Most of my friends in LA pay less in their mortgage than what my rent costs. If you do buy property prepare to pay both NYC Personal Income tax & NYC property tax. I have friends that paid 20k in property taxes in 2014.

Don't move to NYC.

My quality of life and cost of living is a shite ton better in south Louisiana than NYC. NYC is a cesspool of over regulation and the state getting as many bites out of of your tax apple as they can.

LA is the same as well and even worse as it is just basically a giant Baton Rouge with even worse traffic and fake and snobbish people everywhere. If it didn't have the beaches and beautiful scenery in the background and the aforementioned weather, it wouldn't be worth a shite as a place to visit or live in if you didn't have a job lined up there.

Both are anti freedom pieces of shite.
