The wife (no pics) & I are kid free and we usually go out of town so we haven't done anything in BR for NYE in like a decade.
Anything going on at restaurants or bars and such?

I'd skip BR and head to Nola.

I have completely quit going out on NYE...always spend entirely too much cash for the amount of fun that I have...better off avoiding the drunk drivers and doing something around home.

I'll do my best.

Seriously though, I'm mixed on having the games that day, especially since I have to work that day.

NOLA is very legit for NYE. Live bands in Jackson square, Decatur gets blocked off from vehicle traffic, gumbo pot drop from Jan brewery, concert band at Woldenburg park, everyone pops champagne bottles on the levee at midnight. Great fireworks too.

It's not worth the risk

Downtown BR works well enough for a NYE out with the wife. Fireworks, plenty of people, live music, lack of cover charges. If you're not on a slut hunt it's not worth the extra money to do NOLA

I haven't been to fireworks in downtown BR in years. Last time I went, we were followed back to the car by some shady looking folks. I actually felt safer in the tourist environment near Jackson square in NOLA. Just park near Jax Brewery and walk a block.

New Year's Eve has turned into house parties and blowing up the world with fireworks for us.

Roux house use to be pretty fun 5-7 years ago, I've heard from others that tsunami is cool but crowded.

Pretty sure laburge does their own fireworks display now
