I loved my manual Tacoma. DCSB, 4wd.

Driving a manual has always been more of a pain in the arse to me than fun.

I'll never understand this. I HATE having to keep my foot on the brake when I'm stopped. Just seems unnatural.

It’s more difficult to text and drive in a manual transmission vehicle

If you don’t need 4WD why not look at a Highlander?

Want a body on frame vehicle not a unibody POS.

So now you want to eat a bag of dicks and die in a fire?

If you really plan on keeping it for 10+ years having 4WD is probably not much of a difference when it comes to resale

I'de say quite the opposite:

A 20 year old 2wd truck is worth next to nothing.
A 20 year old 4wd truck is worth at least a few grand.

Regardless of the make and model of the vehicle.

I agree really don't need 4WD but would help with resale at some point
Serious question, does it?

I recently bought a 2018 4Runner hard loaded with offload package. Love it. One of my friends has four of them between wife and kids. He wants to dump his F150 he uses for work. They last a lifetime when taken care of.

Somdo the 4x2's. I'd be leery of buying a second hand 4x4.

So just looked at a 2012 Tacoma with 100,000 miles on blue book and it is worth about 3k for four wheel drive.

Eating dicks and dying in fires comes naturally, you know how it is

Not mentioned yet, but the 4Runner is just overall nicer than the Tacoma. Better interior design, features, etc...

With seats folded down, how is the cargo area?
Would feel comfortable enough hauling something back there without messing up the interior?

Just buy the weathermat floor for the back it’s what I did. The cargo area is bigger than you would think
