Her stance could be dangerous though because she might try the Baltimore model of not handling the protesters and just letting them run rough shod as they please.
Well the only protest I've witnessed her participate in was permitted and coordinated with BRPD.

If you don't want to undo whatever progress Baton Rouge has made under Kip Holden, steer clear of any candidate with ties to north Baton Rouge.
It's pretty much a matter of choosing the candidate who will do the least damage. Most of my friends are voting for Delgado in the hopes that he will at least continue forward progress if nothing else.

he sounds like the best choice. He could be the next Kip.

I'm pretty sure the Kipper was born and raised in the Scotlandville area.

Having met the guy, that is a really bad move. He wouldn't be worse than Marcelle, but he is completely, 100% out for himself and himself only. He is smug, arrogant, and cares nothing for anyone else. He will never get anything done on the council. He purposefully appeals to the lowest common denominators to get elected. He is a clown.
He (and Smokey some, honestly) also has used his influence to try to corner the market on bars and nightlife downtown. He has backed a plan to limit the number of liquor licenses so that he can protect his existing bars from new competition.

indeed he was. He works perfect as well. Kips is D so it locks up the black vote, but he has the best interest for BR at heart so he worked with the old south br money to build up a great downtown area. Kip has done an excellent job with the things he can control as mayor. He also makes common sense stands instead of raw emotion ones.

Thats because most of his bars suck dick.

Basically I just wanna know who Gary Chambers is supporting so I can vote the complete opposite.
Speaking of Gary, did he have to get a golf cart for the protest from the court house to state capital?? I can't imagine he was able to walk that far.

Delgado is good people mates - he was at the BR Trump rally

Truth, he also f&%ked up Mud & Water. It's now Brickyard South, which no longer brings in the outstanding touring music talent Mud & Water somehow managed to book weekly. Most of his bars are absolutely douche-tastic like City Bar and Club 1913 (which, rumor has it, recently lost its liquor license and has been restocking alcohol illegally via the back of a pickup truck). The Draft House is probably the least douchy one. My friends will actually go there from time to time.

Unless I'm mistaken or it's a recent development, Delgado doesn't have any part of City Bar. My understanding is that it's a group from Lafayette. I could be wrong.

I pretty much agree with your assessment. There are some new faces that have entered the race and I hope they gain some traction. One of them is Darryl Gissel who's running as an independent but who was head of the fledgling republican party in the Treen years. I've known Darryl for more than 30 years and have thrown my support behind him, no small feat for a dyed-in-the-wool democrat like myself,

Not surprised. Both are shameless self-promoters.

Besides I'm a St. George terrorist so he doesn't want my vote anyway.

I chose to live in Spanish Town when I moved here (mostly safe and walking distance to work) and I see his signs all over. He must have broad support because ST is pretty darn blue from I gather. I'll probably throw my vote his way when it comes down to it.

F Delgado. And Broome or Marcelle would set this city back 100 years. The answer is Bodi, which is like saying the least smelly turd.

how did it lose its license?
A friend of mine who's pretty high up in the service industry in BR (another bar owner) told me they were bouncing checks all over town, including one for 10k to a distributor. The ABC board kind of frowns on things like that.
They had their license yanked on a Tuesday, Delgado had it back in time for them to open Thursday night. The bounced check to the distributor, however (still not made good on) is why they're having to stock the place from Delgado's other bars.
