But if reading for leisure, I'm not sure I would enjoy using that. I'm a professional writer, and I always enjoy the words, passages, and construction of paragraphs and chapters.
It also makes it impossible to slow down and process what you've read. You may be "reading" each word but are you comprehending them? I'm sure it works fine for short passages like they're using in the demo. But to read several thousand words that way sounds awful.

I never claimed to be elite. I just said I can read fast.

I read their page using their tech and now I see an outline of the text box wherever I look...

It wasn't a shot at you, I'm just predicting how this thread will turn out.

My other concern would be retention. Reading fast is great but if it sacrifices retention then it's pretty worthless.
That's my problem. I can read very quickly, but I don't retain a lot of what I read.

Somehow I don't think reading is an ot baller time passer.

That's where I think the whole problem is. I believe that there are studies that show how much the average brain can read and retain in a certain time frame. Anything beyond that doesn't get processed and stored.

I forgot that this is the OT for a minute. Cue the OT elite that can read 2500 wpm without even breaking a sweat.
OTers all have eidetic memories and read one page at a time.

I can read it but my in-my-head voice is sounding like a robot. Did anyone else feel that way?
That's exactly what I heard.

According to a researcher (sic) at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter be at the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without problem. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself but the word as a whole.

This is not new technology. Software like this has been around for 10 or 20 years.
