Boomers said the same thing about Gen X, and Millenials. Gen X is now saying it about Zoomers who will say the same thing about the generation after Gen Alpha. This is nothing new. Every generation also thinks the world is just fine when they are in their teens and twenties. By the time they are in their 50s and 60s, they think the world is going to hell in a hand basket. None of this is new, including the where the older generation thinks, “yeah, but this time it is different.”

Maybe that's a good thing? A lot of what passes for "sacrifices that are needed for certain careers" in work culture is just people in power taking advantage of someone else. It is rampant in white collar jobs and in fields like medicine.

The whole residency system for doctors is a completely absurd, archaic system that props up the medical industrial complex but supplying hospitals with overworked, highly-skilled labor at a fraction of their true value.
