quote:Just as much a " man of his time" as slave owners like Washington & Jefferson. Below are peers & other " Men of their times" who were abolitionist/ appalled by slavery:
Lafayette was the author of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen in 1789 and a staunch opponent of slavery.
)Thomas Paine- A founding member of America's 1st Abolitionist society in 1775. A favorite Founder of mine.
) General Kosciusko- Under appreciated Revolutionary War soldier who earnestly attempted to end slavery/ serfdom in the US/Europe.
) Gouverneur Morris- Thought both Black & White men were created in God's image & advocated full citizenship & voting rights for Blacks at the 1787 Constitutional Convention.
) Sam Adams & John Adams - Sam especially appalled with slavery & both refused to own slaves
) John Laurens- Soldier/Abolitionist
)Quaker Church & many Abolitionist Societies.
I judge scum Politicians like Jefferson not through a modern lens of history , but to his notable peers. Other notable men of his time.

That's the entire point. CRT is at its heart Marxist, and under Marxist ideology you have to destroy history so that the only history moving forward is that of the Party.

The Maoists are quick to move.
They'll probably name them after such fine citizens as George Floyd and Michael Brown.
The gaslighting of America continues.

I was led to believe if we just took down the Robert E Lee statue in Lee Circle that everything would be ok in New Orleans - did that not work?

quote:Link? Why do you insist upon placing public servants like Davis/ Lee upon pedestals? They are only men. The public statue/ monuments to the Political class needs to end.
