Has anyone been lucky enough to be approached by a genuine New Orleans squeegee man who proceeds to wash your car’s windshield at stop lights and doesn’t even seek payment for his efforts? They are particularly noticeable on Poydras by the Dome and have plenty of colorful washing fluid in plastic water bottles that they are happy to splash on your window. Such a classy welcome to the city!

They are a great complement to the 4 wheeler riders for sure.

Quite a while ago I saw one at that same spot that you mention on Poydras. Luckily I didn't have to deal with the fellow as he was bothering some other guy in the other lane who was frantically trying to signal the guy not to touch his car.

Same frickers are moonlighting by betting people where they got their shoes at.

I once paid one of them $10 to pour his bucket water through the sunroof of the a-hole in that cut me off in traffic.

Dane Cook, anyone?

I just put my wipers on when I see them. It keeps them away.

Every fricking day on my way to work. I’ve shrugged off the regulars (crack head Joe, holla back Lois and the indelible hand job for crank tommy) enough that now they just give me dirty looks

Encountered 1 particularly gracious fellow down there last month. My chauffeur tipped him handsomely for his wares.

That’s my exit everyday and have to turn back under toward LSU health, so I get two each morning. All you need is eye contact and a quick wave to have them pass you. They aren’t aggressive, but work damn fast cleaning those windshields. I would let them wash mine if they were ever dirty. I see people sometimes just give them a water bottle or something instead of money.

I’d rather someone working hard for $1 than the ones that just stand there with a sign.

I hate when the homeless here in Manhattan start washing our windows with a dirty rag while holding out a Mcdonalds cup for money.

They need to perform a skill of some sort in the crosswalk, at least it would be entertaining.

Boo hoo. Come to Austin, there are 4 bums to an intersection.

They don't even offer to clean your windshield. Just stand there looking for a handout.

The panhandling here is out of control.
