The Sewerage and Water Board cancelled the regularly scheduled meeting on 3/18 but failed to mention they held a teleconference yesterday where they approved sewerage rate increases for the next 4 years with no public questions or comment. Shame on these people for using the cover of Covid-19 to raise rates when they already waste the money they have.

How is that possible when they are in the middle of a 10% per year increase for 8 consecutive years? Are they going to put an increase on top of the increase?

Those are increases on the water portion of the bill. These are on the sewerage.

How is that legal with public meeting laws and how does the Public Service Commission allow that?

This place is as bad as facebook with the rumors. A quick visit to their website shows they had a meeting on Friday, but the agenda says it was information only.

They don't have the authority to increase rates. Only the city council can do that.
