Uber Eats Commanders Palace

This is a tell tale sign of how bad the restaurant business is doing right now because a year ago the entire staff would have laughed at you if you asked them if they do Uber Eats.

Part of the appeal of a place like CP is that you make a night (or day) of it. Of course they gotta do what’s necessary to stay solvent, but hope this is temporary

Friend,

Good news is that the city's best restaurant, Impastato's, is doing brisk business dine-in and take-out. I had a five course meal there this week which was better than ever.

They need to go full Golden Corral and install a chocolate fountain.

Friend,

Although I had a brief fling with Golden Corral, I doubt I will ever eat there again, as buffets just are not safe.

Cap,

In your post about the Napolean House you stated that the "Sal" from Sal and Judy's was an owner of the Napolean House. You were incorrect. It was a different Sal Impastato who was part owner of the NH.

Friend,

No I did not. Mother was actually annoyed I was taking a photo and rushed me, otherwise it would have been more centered and I would have included my dessert, the blueberry banana pie. You do point out that the styrofoam is immaculate and not even a hint of that delicious sauce from the Rickey Jackson crab fingers is present on its walls. Either is due to expert packaging -- they really did tie those bags in such a way that prevented shifting -- or the sauce slid off those slick styrofoam sides leaving no sheen. Thank you for your observation.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

P.S. Could you quote me please? If I wrote that it was anyone except Sal, as in Mr. Joe's uncle, not his brother who owns Sal & Judy's, I made a typo. But I'd like to see what exactly was typed. Thanks.

Commanders Palace is very overrated. That's why you get 25 cent martinis with lunch.

The Sal who was part owner of the NH was not the Sal who owns/owned(?)Sal and Judy's. There are many Sal Impastatos. I'm sure it was an honest mistake.

Friend,

Correct. Sal Impastato, former owner of The Napoleon House, was Mr. Joe's (and Sal of Sal & Judy's) uncle. Mr. Joe's first job after arriving from Sicily was working there. He actually lived at The Napoleon House for a time, and would sleep on one of the restaurant's freezers during the summer because there was no air conditioning in his room.

Thanks Tulane, I knew you would educate me. I enjoy everything you do around here, even if some of these heathens don’t

I'm referring to the Sal who last owned the NH and sold to the Brennans. That was not the Sal of Sal and Judy's that you seemed to conflate in your thread of January 2020.

Friend,

Thank you for pointing out my lack of precision with language. I edited the wording for clarity's sake.
