I've already got a New Orleans troll thread going.

This is just overkill.

The NOLA apathy and Louisiana apathy in general has become more and more palpable with each passing year. 10 years ago people cared, now they're simply jaded, and rightly so.

This is silly. Folks are acting like the moment you arrive in NOLA, you are getting robbed or shot. I've never felt threatened in NOLA, ever. I also don't do any of the shite that you're specifically warned not to do when you go there.

The comparison was drawn between crime statistics not property values.

Try to stay on topic.

Obviously they're different, but the general point is the same. We cannot keep our cities in line.

It's a shame too.

Looked like things were gonna change for the better after Katrina.

It's just getting worse and worse though.

New Orleans was never thought of as Minneapolis-St. Paul.

It's an old, old port city that has a stigma built upon crime and shysters. You can sprinkle in drunkery and "voodoo" ( ) as well. Let's not forget the corrupt and inept police deparment and city officials to put the cherry on top.

The city is what it is.

All clear both directions at the high rise with patchy delays around the Smoothie King Center

Some might argue that the Democrat Plantations you allude to are working as intended.

Because we pay our thugs to reproduce more thugs.

Time to stop paying the poor uneducated criminals to reproduce and start offering them the choice of paid sterilization.

Contrary to what the OT says, every single person I know that lives in NO absolutely loves it. We love going there also, even the people I know that are from there but are not currently living there can't wait to go back.

To say NO is the Detroit of the South is idiotic... Detroit was a once mighty city in America with a thriving Industrial niche... It faded into irrelevance... NO has never been as great as Detroit once was

This is just plain wrong. While not in our lifetime, New Orleans was once a very important, thriving city. Granted, it was in the early portion of the 19th century.

New Orleans was arguably the second most important city in the entire country before railroads became the primary mode of commercial transportation.

1. Make abortion and birth control (and contraceptives) MUCH easier to get. I’m talking a clinic on each street corner of the projects/low-income areas and the city pays for them abortion

2. Put into law they receive no extra money for children, just vouchers for diapers and baby food only

3. Use money saved for schools and re-invest in #1.

4. Contain, contain, contain. Patrol in circles around the bad areas and don’t go in them or let them out of them.

Maybe Detroit is the New Orleans of the North.

New Orleans has been a crime shite hole for a long time. This isn't new.
