Planning a trip to visit the WWII Museum with my mom, dad, and another of their 80 year old friends. I'm excited to see it myself.

Not sure where we'll stay. We'll need three rooms. Looks like there's a Residence Inn, Courtyard, and Embassy Suites nearby. One of those might work.

Will our car be safe in a parking garage? Doubt I can carry in that museum. Don't want to leave a gun in the car, or in a hotel room either.

NO has its charm for visitors like me. But I can't get over the smell. For people not used to it, it just seems like there should be urinal cakes the size of manhole covers everywhere.

You know there’s other places besides Bourbon Street right?

It’s ok. Overrated to a certain extent.

When I tell people I lived in NOLA for 10 years I either get "OMG I love that city" or "will never go back again". No in between. I think it's one of the best cities in the world and super underappreciated. If you haven't done it right, you don't understand.

I wouldn't want to live there. But there's no place I'd rather spend a weekend

My sister and her husband relocated to NOLA from Atlanta and absolutely love it. It’s not for everyone to be sure, but I have friends there who wouldn’t live anywhere else. Very few people I know are ambivalent about NOLA. They either love it or hate it.

If my family didn't live there I'd never visit. It's a trashcan

They have world class restaurants with the kind of fare you can't get anywhere else. Do you not like food? Are you poor?

At the end of the list because it might be the last on the list.

Same here.

My family in Kenner and Metairie don’t go in to the city outside of Saints games. That’s changing soon, though. They gave up their season tickets after Brees and Payton choked in the NFC championship game.

It's the best. I lived away for seven years for college and grad school, and have traveled all over. I wouldn't and couldn't live anywhere else.
