Alec Baldwin careful with guns

DOES NOT COMPUTE
-didnt remove magazine and clear the gun
-didn't keep muzzle pointed in safe direction
-didn't keep finger off trigger
-broke the cardinal rule of safe gun handling which is to ALWAYS treat any gun as if it were loaded

Authorities said Friday that the assistant director, Dave Halls, had handed the weapon to Baldwin and announced “cold gun,” indicating it was safe to use.

Why was the AD handing him the gun and not the armorer?

Never saw him on there.

In fact, the only movie I have seen of his was Beetlejuice.

Its quite obvious these hand wringers watch far more Baldwin and know more about his personal life than the rest of us.

All I know is his human side, and he doesn't have one. He's an egotistical sociopath.

Someone needs to be held accountable for this deadly mistake that could have been easily prevented.

but how many actors do you think check for live rounds in their weapons on set?

Reports are out Clint Eastwood does.

Least surprising thing I’ll have learned today.

So does every other person with common sense.

I’d guarantee you so does Keanu Reeves, Vin Diesel, etc.

Here’s the thing about a movie set, there’s likely 2 guns. It’s not just about checking your own gun it’s making sure the other side is freaking checking theirs’.

So did he shoot one of the people, think “wow! That’s good acting! Now let’s see if the director is as good an actor!”?

Pew pew.

“Yep. Pretty good.”

I've heard she wasn't on set.

She came onto the set after the shooting.

prop guns

No such thing. By calling it a prop gun you are saying that it is a toy and can’t fire real bullets.

Prop guns are very real guns. They can and do shoot live ammo.

Calling it a prop gun plays right into the lefts hand bc it gives them a pass for not treating it as a hot gun.

If he actually had any firearm training he would know to check the firearm also himself. I get it that this is the movies and someone should have checked it properly before handing it to him but one pull of a trigger can change your life (and someone else's) in the blink of an eye. It is a tough situation for everyone. Really sad story. Same crap happened to Brandon Lee.

I think actors and people with a high occupational IQ lack common sense. I always assume these people are somewhat on the spectrum.

Things that are obvious to most people seem foreign to them, and some posters here.

A sure indication that conservatives have morphed into a mindless cult is that you condemn Baldwin for a clear accident and don’t condemn Trump for ACTIVELY sabotaging the pandemic response, leading to tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of additional deaths. And you view Rittenhouse, an incel that crossed state lines with an illegal gun and purposely killed people, as a hero.

You have no credibility outside of your cult. You’re pathetic.

nope. that's just what a gun being used in a movie or tv show is called.

Its not safer to have a 24 year old Onlyfans tart with no real firearm experience?

Not all of them do. Guns used for up-close shots like holding one to someone's head, either have no firing pin or one shaved down to where it can't fire.

Also, guns aren't usually fired at people on set. It is all camera angles, CGI, etc. aka "movie magic"

All of this stuff came about after Brandon Lee apparently

Self defense and he was only there to deter businesses from being burned down by BLM.

The error here is that it's never "safe" to use until you check it yourself. Honestly, I don't know a single responsible firearm user who doesn't immediately check the magazine and chamber after being handed a firearm.

I don't like Alec Baldwin, but a lot of you guys are jumping on this because you're mad at him for playing Trump on SNL. Grow up.

I’d have the same reaction if you replaced the name ‘Alec Baldwin’ with the name ‘James Woods’.
Firearms safety applies to everyone.

Baldwin is just easier to jump on because of the irony of him being a virulent anti-gun nut, and just having a history of being unhinged in general.
