How could a small yappy breed be anywhere near the best breed?

I was expecting a golden retriever or Australian Shepherd. I'm let down.

dachshunds are amusing for small dogs

but they're not in the top 10 breeds (no small dog, save perhaps a corgi, is)

My two were playing tug-a-war with a garter snake yesterday.

We had a dachshund when I was growing up.

Little guys are fearless, a lot of small dogs act big but dachshunds literally think they can walk the walk

Had more energy than a puppy when he was 13, best pet I've ever had.

My Dox would have sent that bear's arse to the vet. In his own mind. Without a doubt.

I would rather be mauled to death by a Pitbull then have to listen to a Dachshund barking all day every day.

My neighbor has a large Dachshund that is in town in a large unfenced lot. My Aussie hates him. He dug into the backyard one day and Layla rolled him (ran over him sideways at full speed and the impact caused him to roll over about three times). After getting rolled a few more times, he quit coming over.

I've had big dogs all my life but small dogs the past 12 years - I will take the pug over any of them. They don't yap like most small dogs and they love people. Makes me laugh just to watch their expressions.

But this isn't about a pitbull.

Fake news.
