I'm down to set up an OT chess tourney. I'll need to scrub my personal info from my profile first, though

It was the closest thing to a phallic piece that I could think of. Well played.

Lichess seems to be the other very popular free site, but I've read that if you are serious about getting better Internet Chess Club is supposed to be the best. I think it costs something like $35 every 6 months. A lot of grand masters play there.

I've been casually playing chess most of my life, but the last 8 months or so I've gotten more serious about getting better. Reading books about it and stuff. It's a work in progress.

It's kind of hard to quantify even with a quantifiable number like elo. Maybe I was around more of an 1100-1200 player before. But my rating is prone to large jumps up and down depending on trying new things or just simple slumps. I can say that my chess sense and pattern recognition is greatly improved just from playing a lot of games recently and doing tactics puzzles.

I feel like I might be in for a bit of a leap in skill as some things have been making more sense to me lately, but who knows. Chess is great at showing you that you don't know shite. Just when you think you have something figured out some one comes along and crushes you.

Chess definitely comes and goes.

I'm up for a TD chess tourny if someone puts it together. I think my standard rating was 1512 or so the last time I played online. I've cracked 1600 a few times but I've never been able to stay there for long.
