For dutch beer go to Proeflokaal Arendsnest. Its on Herengracht canal with seating out on the canal. There is a great takeaway pizza place around the corner on Lieliegracht called Del Porte Via....there is usually a line of people waiting to order. Grab a beer at the bar next door and sit on the canal and eat pizza and watch the boats go by.
Gollem is a great beer bar and it looks like they have Westvleteren right now!
de Wildeman is a great beer bar too.
Definitiely rent a bike....and not a tourist bike that has advertising on it and pegs you as a tourist. Rent a bike like the locals ride.. LINK and go to Vondel Park.....Amsterdam's Central Park. There is a bar in the park called the 't Blauwe Theehuis (Blue Tea House) that has tons of multi-level outdoor seating. Great place to chill.
Don't spend all your time in the central part of the city. Go out to the Pijp neighborhood...my favorite thia place is out there Siriphon....and take the free ferry across the IJ River from the back of Central Station to Amsterdam- Noord. This area is full of old warehouses that have been converted into artist studios. You can just walk in and wonder around.

Take a day and visit Waterloo in Belgium. You can walk the battlefield and really get a feel for how the battle followed the terrain. Then hit up one of the monasteries for some killer beer.

blueboy, I've never been to Amsterdam. I got that info from Vincent Vega in "Pulp Fiction".
I really do wish I'd done more food destinations, but I was only there for a couple of days and wanted to see my favorite painting at the VGM and hit the others, as well as the parks, squares and of course, smoke a lot of weed.
That was 1999, though, and I hear that the laws have been changed. I don't smoke anymore anyway.

Yep. Get blazed and ride your bike around. Check out the different parks. Also if you want to do shrooms you can just ask the guy behind the counter at any shop that sells pipes.

Take shrooms and then visit the Torture Museum. You're welcome in advance.
