It depends on how it's formed, at what altitude, and so forth on the "thinnest" - what you mean is - when first formed, they appear more cohesive and rope/cord-like in appearance.

Chemtrails, largely, don't exist. I'm not saying chemicals aren't delivered from the air. I'm not a "cropdusting" denier. However, such chemicals are delivered at altitudes measured in dozens of feet, not thousands. I'm also not denying there are relatively unusual examples of silver oxide to seed clouds for rain and aerobatic demonstrations with colored smoke for effect, etc.

In your example, the "contrail" as labeled on the left is actually a photograph of an aircraft in the middle of creating a condensation trail (a "contrail" or "vapor trail"). The area of the photograph labeled as "chemtrail" is actually a contrail (or "vapor trail") that has been around for a little while (they can persist for hours depending on atmospheric conditions) that has been subjected to various shear forces at altitude to present an increasingly cirrhus appearance. After all, these are merely clouds of water vapor and should/do appear much in the same way that naturally formed clouds do.

But, to suggest we have fleets of planes flying around dumping chemicals into the air is moonbattery. The sheer (pardon the pun) logistics of such an operation boggles the imagination.
