You must not be hearing all the carpetbaggers using fake accents in N’awlins.

It's real. The last time this came up, I told yall I was recently sitting at the bar at Black Bear Golf Course in Delhi, and every girl working there sounded just like Lainey Wilson.

The girls from Rayville, Baskin, Start, Mangham, Crowville, Colombia, Delhi, Epps, Oak Grove, Tallulah, Transylvania and even the truck stops in Waverly and Mound have variations of the Lainey Wilson twang. It's seems to skew a little less twangy when you get over around Monroe.

My wife is from the area and has a similar twang. It's music to my ears. Them NE Louisiana girls are something else I tell you.

Now let's looks at some pictures of Louisianas country queen.

It’s a bit much.

She makes it a lot thicker than what it actually is.

I have met her father and uncle, they rent ground next to a buddy of mines family property closer to Crowville. Met them long before she was famous or even a known name. They definitely have an accent, as just about everyone from that area. But it is not that thick.

Maybe she adds a little Nashville to it. She has lived in Nashville a long time(since she was 18), but have you ever spent any time around Baskin or those parishes?

You will hear a version of her accent all around there.

I’ve been all over.

Maybe it’s the Nashville twang that is foreign to me. I can’t stand listening to her in that commercial she’s in.

Her entire schtick is fake. From the accent to the palm-reading, gypsy costumes she constantly wears

A person in showbiz is adding a little extra show to her life. I'm flabbergasted a entertainer would do such.

Here's a little tip, almost every entertainer you know of is also a little fake. Its the business. Even in country music the 100% authentic true country people are a small percentage of the genre.

Absolutely legit. When I heard an interview with her, it reminded me of several girls I went to high school with. Country as a turnip green.

This from someone who doesn’t know her. Doesn’t know her parents. Has zero idea how she was raised. Has never been to Baskin, La.

Yea bud, I’m sure you got it all figured out.

Keep melting

I went to high school with her. I think it’s thicker and more twangy than I remember, but not that much more. Pretty impressed by what she’s accomplished.

You start a Lainey Wilson thread and ask about her fricking accent?

Yes, her cooter smells like Strawberry wine.

Like the illustrious Taylor Swift - was she fake country then or is she fake mainstream now? Hard to say. You could say she was really both but there seems zero country now. Probably most likely fake country then.

I’m in the Monroe area frequently and I’ve run into plenty of people (Farmerville especially) that have a similar country twang
