Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed round

I haven't got mail since last Friday, doubt I'll get any tomorrow.

I haven’t gotten mail worth opening in probably 10 years.

Mottos like this one were put in place when this country and its institutions were in an entirely different place. DEI and affirmative action have made institutions just a shadow of their former selves, especially something run by the Gov such as the USPS

I only check once a week so they don't jam in too much junk in case Amazon wants to wedge a small package in there

Back during the Blizzard of '78, when I was in high school, we missed the entire month of January because of snow and extreme cold. Our rural route mail man NEVER missed a day of mail delivery, six days a week.
Now in our city neighborhood...we don't get regular service when the weather is good...and mail trucks can be seen all over town making deliveries for Amazon on Sundays. The USPS, once a respected and efficient government service...has gone to pot.

Waiting on a mil-surplus parka, Tracking has shown it out for delivery since Saturday.

Given the average Louisiana based USPS employee, I DO NOT want them driving on ice / snow.
In all honesty they should just move to delivery 3 days a week except for overnight or priority mail. do half the routes MWF and the other half TuThSa
Run a priority / overnight seperate route.

quote:I'm a couple of miles from the Post Office. We didn't get any accumulation here. Mailman didn't deliver due to "inclement weather". Same with UPS. Ordered two office chairs from Amazon. They were at the local hub early Saturday morning. UPS is blaming the delay on the weather.... THE WEATHER WE GOT ON TUESDAY!

Them frickers were some of my first bosses.
There were reasons and there were excuses.
You’d better not mix the two up.

Great opportunity for them to search all the envelopes for cash and checks to wash.

My Grandfather was saying that the other day.
Then he said I guess you can put that up there with the real cowboys… dying breed.

ETA: I'll get to my point - the USPS is being sabotaged to make way for privatization

Prior to the appointment, he was the founder and CEO of the logistics and freight company New Breed Logistics and was a major Republican Party donor and fundraiser for Donald Trump.[1] DeJoy is the first postmaster general since 1992 without any previous experience in the USPS and the first postmaster general in U.S. history to come directly from the board of a privately owned competitor to the public–private partnership of the USPS entity.[2] His companies still hold active service contracts with the USPS, generating controversy over conflict of interest.
