Yeah, it's dangerous to play along. OP probably did because she didn't think about them creating more posts. Then she was stuck.

yeah...would definitely explain the ending...i read "penpal" earlier in this thread, and i really enjoyed it...i'd like to read the book that the author adapted from the original posts...he said it kind of fleshed out a few areas where he'd had to be brief due to the maximum length allowed where it was posted.

Penpal was beautifully done

Spire in the woods was really long and less scary, but also well done. Hoping some of mine can end up that way

i tend to find some of the longer stories a bit off-putting, unless they really draw me in and keep a fairly rapid pace...i enjoyed the story you wrote that you linked here...good luck with your other ideas.

Long story short, a buddy and I went up the Taku River into British Columbia a few years ago on boat to look around. We came across the old Tulsequah Chief mine site on the Taku River in BC. Everything looked like an active town. Dishes on tables, clothes in closets, kids toys, looked like a town right out of the 1960's but no people. The mine had shut down several years earlier.

My buddy was getting over a recent divorce with his evangelical wife and he said "frick, Katrina was right and I missed the rapture..."
Very eerie, the site looked like there should be people walking around and had everything but people. Dishes, clothes, papers. Looked like something sucked all the people out one night.

Come to find out the mind closed and the company flew three C-130's in and got the people out one morning, they didn't have time to take anything with them. Very eerie place.

If you want to be totally disgusted, go to the site Best Gore.com. This site shows actual beheadings, hangings, etc. In Iran they hang you by putting a noose around your neck and a crane lifts you up. Check it out. Iran video shows three people getting hung. It was two men and a woman. It took a minute for the woman to die. The video shows her kicking and trying to free herself. She eventually dies but she got what she deserved. She had the two men wipe out her spouse's immediate family. I felt sorry for the Asian guy who was screaming while he was being beheaded and the killers showing his head after it was cut off. This site is much worse than any scary story that you read.

Hey bird, go to the site that I posted, Best Gore.com. I never had a nightmare about it, but it's hard not to have feelings for the criminal, despite what their crime was. My mom is in her eighties and from New Orleans. She told me that New Orleans had public hangings while she was a child and the church bells rang during the hangings.

I will post a separate thread and see if it can keep up on the OT long enough for me to get some ideas.
