Googling the name and county, that was actually a great idea. It didn't tell me much more, but it did show that he did 18 months in lockup for the crime, 2001-2003. It also includes and important detail "Providing Sex Mat To minor" so I guess he maybe worked at a gas station and sold a playboy to a 17 year old without checking his id?

I know a cop who went to prison for diddling his 13 year old cousin.
He had several different charges. One of them was for providing alcohol to the minor in an attempt to get in their pants.
Sounds similar to your friends' charge.
