What Id be more concerned about is how they met. Either way, just text the guy to stop contacting her, or else youll call the proper authorities. It should scare him shitless.

Depends if he's actively soliciting sex, but Im not sure how it would work across state lines.
I know from To Catch a Predator, that in Texas, even just talking to a minor online and soliciting sex is a punishable offense. In other states he would have to actively meet the individual and show intent (why they always ask the pedos to bring stuff on TCAP).
I just think it might not be worth all the trouble, especially if his daughter can easily cut off the contact. Idk why she would want to talk this individual anyhow.

So I read and re read the OP. We don't know if his kid is a boy or girl and if the 45yo is a man or woman.

Or if he even knows that shes 15 years old......
I mean, its not illegal for a 45 year old man to just talk to a 15 year old...its creepy as frick, but not illegal.
And like I said, if he is soliciting sex, then he is subject to the law. Otherwise, there isn't anything he can get punished for.
He needs to collect more evidence
-Confirming he knows shes 15
-Confirming HIS identity/age etc.
-Confirming he is actively soliciting sex
If yes, then you have something authorities can act on.
