Remember, you can get a 4Runner with 3rd row seating. It’s not a really common option but it’s a useful one. Mine has 3rd row seating and with them folded down, it’s like a regular 4Runner, as far as hauling stuff goes.

3rd row is unnecessary IMO. We have 2 kids and my wife drives an '18 Honda Pilot. I think we've used the 3rd row 3 or 4 times in the almost 6 years we've had it. Not saying it isn't nice to have, but don't limit yourself to 3rd row only. Especially with only having 1 kid
