National Guard is in NOLA helping with drive thru testing

Contacted a personal friend whose husband is a new Colonel of as of about 2 weeks ago or less to ask if she knew anything about travel being closed in/out of the state. Our daughter went back to Mississippi to get her things and we wanted to make sure she could get back as she wants to stay and visit with friends for a couple of days. As of now, at least, there are no plans per for this type of thing.
She did tell me that her husband "and others" are in NOLA helping with testing; I didn't get clarification on what unit they're from.
Just sharing as I know that some here have said that they live in Louisiana but work in Mississippi so figured I'd share.

Isn’t this the national guards job to help out at times like this?

Yes but I'm just saying I guess for those saying the Guard will be called out YES they are. At this time for testing only as it was told to me.

They usually help out any time a state of emergency is issued. We are accustomed to seeing that at times of flooding and hurricanes. They are there for crowd control because people will be loosing their shite waiting in line to get the test administered.

Well lately there job has been to act as relief for our country's war games... so I'm happy to see them go back to their intended purpose.
I still believe part of the reason shite got out of control right after Katrina was because so many LA units were in the sandbox instead of here being able to help.

OldSouth I wanted to make sure that she could get home -- she went to get things out of her dorm. After reading crazy posts here I figured I needed to check and that a Colonel in the Guard would know!
