NEW ORLEANS —
A part of the Fall Food Extravaganza is a weeklong event celebrating all things fried chicken.

It is all part of an effort to support businesses hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and Hurricane Ida.

This year, the National Fried Chicken Festival has become National Fried Chicken Week.

WDSU's Heath Allen shows how this festival turned into a citywide event.

Week long fried chicken fest in Nola, So with this becoming a thing let's get a list of the best fried chicken you can get in the city...or the GNO.

One would think so, but I am white and will be attending. Wish me luck.

Who doesn’t like fried chicken?

And fried chicken isn’t a black thing. It came here with the scots-Irish.
The Africans picked it up from them. So it’s technically “cultural appropriation” though that isn’t really a thing because it’s stupid.

And, I mean, the Blue Store has some of the best fried chicken around and they are run by oriental folk. So good fried chicken is not confined to any one race.

Why is it racist? The only victim here is the chicken, and it’s neither black or white.

If it's not held in Kentucky, it's not possible to be a Fried Chicken Fest.

Brothas does have some good fried chicken.

One of my top spots to get fried chicken from is actually wing snack express. They got some really good wings.

Just curious about these gym closures? That was a long time ago.
And I think the way this is set up can hardly be called a festival, but I’m happy these businesses can get some extra business.

McHardy’s is pretty damn good. Willie Mae’s is probably the most famous. Fiorella’s is one many people don’t know about.
