I don't know about mandatory but when I was a kid, all the older men wore still wore hats, generally fedoras. I like the idea of that being the norm. And isn't it somewhat funny that the very epitome of old school conformance is now now a sort of a hipster nonconformism.

Yeah, all family's should have dinner together at the table. I didn't do that with my family growing up, but we definitely try to do it at least 3 or 4 times a week in my house.

well when you have to strip down prior to boarding and sit in a seat designed for a 120 lb woman, that 3 piece suit starts to look less like travel attire.

To the OP, bring back hats for men as part of a suit. Mostly because I'm going bald.
