I've lived in one of the more affluent towns outside of Raleigh for the last ten years. Best place I've ever lived. Those of y'all who haven't lived here don't realize what a desirable place this is.

Charlotte which doesn’t hold a candle to Charleston

Charlotte is a better city for a job/career
Charleston is a much better city to vacation or retire to

Working from home since the plandemic started, but my office is in RTP and the commute was around 15 to 20 minutes each way. Cary has every top national grocery store it seems too. Wegmans just opened in Morrisville, and we already have a Costco in Apex (5 minutes from my house), Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Publix, Lidl, Fresh Market, Harris Teeter, etc.

Actually grew up outside Charleston, SC. Clemson grad too btw, not SEC but similar enough in football culture. I really dig this message board though, the best I've found.

It was a joke, since what people in the Triangle and NC call Cary

I would move here in a heartbeat if I got a better-paying job.

It is beautiful. Charlotte is a very nice, surprisingly fun city.

The market for high-paying jobs compared to where you currently live, especially post-corona, is bupkis (unless you happen to be a talented financer with a banking pedigree).

Yeah I know, but I agree there are a lot of yankees here. I can't help but get a little triggered when I see a not so uncommon and quite ugly NY license plate.
