Doesn't sound that crazy to me. I have heard about this kind of thing before. My wife played softball when she was like 13, and she said the coach (butch lesbian) would invite the players to hang out after and they would smoke weed. Pretty clear to me that coach was interested in more than just hanging out.

Also, my mom probably thought I was sleeping over at a friend's. And we had much longer leashes, or none at all, in the 80's and 90's.

Ahhhhh, Mrs Hotard, a beauty, couldn't hide her "toe" no matter what she did. Class clown that I was she never really was mad at me for any of it but she moved me from the back row to the front corner by her desk. She wore skirts pretty often and when she'd sit on the corner of her desk and cross her legs O M G ! It was so pretty ! After a lil while the girl behind me realized that I could see everything and told me congrats after class and that she wouldn't say anything to anyone

Inappropriate teach/student stuff used to be kept under the rug pre-social media days. Not sure it was any less prevalent though.
Two that I recall were a very successful football coach had a fling with HS cheerleader who was 16 or 17. From a prominent local family so he retired "due to stress" and became a real estate appraiser.
Another HS teacher was totally wild. Parties at her pool where she'd skinny dip in front of the guys and it seemed by the little scandal more than that went on. Again, prominent local family so I suppose a behind closed doors decision was made that she should just work for the family business.
