Most people actually want to be a part of society
Adults can define society. You'll learn someday.
I'm sure there's grownups in your life that can mentor you.

Also, my wife is supportive of a move to New Hampshire so our son can learn a trade like welding in high school at a vocational high school. How did LA let vocational schools get this terrible?
Central has a welding cert program. Actually there are about a dozen different types of certificates that can be earned at Central.

If you can do underwater, you'll do well. Not sure I could do it. I can dive, I can weld, but not the combo.
He did both just using scuba and then got into deep water with the heavy diving suit. Had to quit after almost 20 years when his hearing was getting real bad due to being under pressure on many of his dives.

Alot of the major industrial construction companies in south Louisiana are heavily involved in welding programs in high schools. A lot of times those guys have jobs waiting for them after high school.
Absolutely true. We have a partnership with Turner Industries. They are always looking to hire our students right out of high school.

I've got friends who send their kids to ski academies, their kids will never be superstars. Its a great experience for them though to be around like minded people and professionals.
Yea we as parents are just trying to help our son make the best practical decision. He also has a learning disability but thrives at hands on learning. He loves playing minecraft. We might just stay in LA and move to a district within LA with a better voc school. That way he keeps his current friends.

Best of luck. Your son is fortunate to have people who take an active role.

NYC
---the cost of living makes this a non-starter.
the big school districts in Texas (like Cy-Fair in NW Houston) have auto shop, etc. Consider that.

why not let him attend high school and get his diploma and attend a local welding school after hours?
there are places in BR, LC, nola, laffy and all of north louisiana.
much better overall path. and like you need to move across the country to learn to be a welder.
OP you sound like a fricking retard with the post.

Getting out of La =/= retard.
Most smart folks are taking that same path.

all for people leaving if its right for them, but dont act like you have to move across country to find a vocational welding school
thats the retarded part, not moving out of LA.

Your local high school is partnered with a community college that offers a dual enrollment program. Your son can get all the training and credit hours he requires going that simple route, and it's much cheaper to get those credit hours while in high school—no need to move to New Hampshire.
