Send him off to work as a scaffold builder for a while.

I have the perfect idea...... Go drop him off in the lower 9th ward of NOLA for a day or two. Then that might change his mind about getting a job.

My 16 year old pays her own way during the summer months....how in the hell does a college age kid not already have that work ethic.
My 5 year old has a chore list at night too....the 3 year old is getting a pass. Not to sound like a hard arse, but I just cant imagine NOT working and contributing to be an option. I got a Masters in 93, I spent the next 10 months working the cash register at a C Store.

Tell him to get a job....any job....and start contributing if he wants to stay there.
I know times are hard and a lot of people his age are going to struggle, but he doesn't need to land a dream job. Just something that serves as a stop gap.

I think the kid should go to law school. The world needs more lawyers. Their job is easy too - I've seen it on TV.

He will have to work a shite job and work his way up like a lot of us. Just because you pay for a few classes doesn't mean you just get your dream job. Even if he goes back to school, it will be the same bullshite. He needs to get in somewhere now. Lsu just had a career expo, why wasn't he there?

Concur. With the degree he has, he needs to become intimately familiar with one of these emblems:

Chase is always hiring.... and they have branches out of state.
He's gonna have to work his way up that corporate ladder.

So let me get this straight, your son wants to go to grad school (which he is paying for) but you would prefer him to use his international finance degree and get a job as a bank teller in Baton Rouge? Makes sense

I am currently working for my parents. My parents have gave me partial ownership in all of their investments. My job is to manage them.
Does that make me a bad person?

I'm not that old...but I did get my first job by walking in and asking for it. I was a short order cook at Shanahan's on Carrolton when I was 16. Learned a lot by working the late shift as a teenager.
