Why would he want a crappy 2008 Trailblazer back? I'm sure if he waits like enough, the thugs will gladly return it.

Go look for it.
You would be surprised how easy it could be to find if the perps haven't chopped it.
Gas stations are your friend. Most car thief's are addicts, thus they cant afford a cheap beater of their own. Addicts need cigarettes, filters for drugs, and cheap food.
Try motel parking lots after that. Addicts use drugs in hotel rooms and meet other addicts, prostitutes there to party.
Finally, check empty parking lots. For some reason, car thief's abandon them in empty parking lots with few or no witnesses.
Happy hunting.

The OT found my brothers car a few years ago. You should have posted yesterday.

I'd call customer service and escalate up to a supervisor immediately and ask for all their contact information and physical location etc. mentioning that he's having his attorney file an injunction against OnStar to provide the location of his vehicle.
That thing should ping when the ignition is turned on at the very least.
OnStar tracks customers without a plan

tell him to pay the damn subscription and have them turn it back on....it is still his car.

No insurance huh? Liability only?
Posted on 7/13/16 at 9:27 pm to EyeTwentyNole
OnStar is just choosing not to. I understand why, you gotta pay for the service. It would be like calling up an insurance company after getting sick and begging them to cover you. Not going to happen. However, they should offer a service where they will track your vehicle for a nice one time payment. People could choose to pay it or not. Not sure of the legalities but if they can legally do it they should offer it. $500 and we will find your car for you right now...

I think they can track it, but will they???

I get it too, but I agree that they should charge a flat fee to locate the vehicle and get a subscription. If I'm not mistaken, all Onstar vehicles are equipped with a GPS locator. It's just a matter if they choose to help or not.

2.7 Ecoboost is no joke. Low 14 second 1/4 mile (can gain a full second with a $500 tune) and can get almost 30 mpg on the highway. It's a blast to drive, and has just about any feature you could want.
I think I'll survive you rolling your eyes.

I guess the point is he bought, financed, and paid the car off. No matter if you like the make and model, it was "his". His insurance will take care of everything but he's pissed that some a-hole took what he worked for. I don't blame him
