I remember reading it initially and not thinking it was going to be much of anything.

There aren't any great posts and probably no good ones here. The basic story is: OP's neighbor, 45, chaperoned a party for teenagers. Some 18 year old girl, on a dare, "made out with him" and now people are - ignoring it? Gossiping? I'm not really sure, but there is a lot of interest on the OT by people who don't know anyone involved. Original poster, assuming the story is true, has either expertly stoked it along from time to time, or as he would put it just responded to others, by throwing in tantalizing elements like he thinks the girl is not good-looking. That just prompts more people to talk here.
I think it got to 16 pages because it contains so many timelessly interesting topics here: young women, (the thought of) sex, the idea of an old guy having a shot with a young girl, then the keyboard tough-talk fantasies of "I'd kick his arse" / "I'd set him straight in a hurry".
Basically there's never going to be any shortage of posters to talk about women in any kind of sexual situation, and never a shortage of posters to talk about all the beat-downs they "would have done if they were there."
