Look, if a couple and their young child are in need of a place to stay, maybe you rent them a room. They work, pay bills, assimilate, become Americanized. It's a beautiful story.
On the other hand, if a dozen young men from a dangerous background want to stay in your spare room, and expect you to feed, clothe, and provide for them, all the while inconveniencing you and harassing your wife and daughter, and constantly inviting more of their ill mannered friends to crash on your couch...

Look...it's hard to watch a desperate grown man holding his young daughter seeking a better life being purposefully tripped while police are chasing him.
Imagine if you were that father. Hard to watch.
However, I don't trust the intentions of any muslim. I'm sorry, I believe the whole "most muslims are peace loving people" narrative is a load of crap. It's propaganda. Muslims give two shits about non-muslims. When push comes to shove, they always choose the muslim way. They never truly assimilate.
When their son or daughters become terrorists, they play the victim role. They become "dindonuffins". Or, they straight up lie and denounce their children's radical actions all while funding their evil exploits.
Imagine if you were that father. Hard to watch.

I agree. On an individual level it can be heartrending. Easy to paint her as the heartless bitch and him as the desperate refugee only searching for a new life.
But it isn't only one father. Or family. It is MILLIONS. And when you deal with things of scale, you can't look at every Single individual.
Think about a barge, full of grain. Individual grains of wheat, normal and fine. But let's say the covers leak. Grain starts to get wet, contaminated. Starts to rot, to ferment.
Now you had a barge that might have been good at one time, but because of inherent vice, or outside contamination, has become defective. Sure, maybe you could pull patches of good wheat out, but then you are still risking contaminated and dangerous material getting in. So what do you do? Reject the barge. You don't say "well, we know it's bad and full of rot and rodents, but we'll take it and make bread anyway. We'll just mix it with the good flour we already have and it'll be fine."
It's not a pretty reality, but these countries didn't request these people come and should be able to (and should, for their own sake) reject the lot of these young, disillusioned males who are ripe for radicalization and will be the frontline soldiers in the coming conflict.
Much like the US is subsidizing the rampant reproduction of the lowest common denominator, the west is hastening its own demise.
