I gave up being Catholic over 20 years ago. It has worked out well. I don't have to make myself miserable to please God or my family anymore.

In my defense, I have been on the Whole Life Challenge for 7 weeks. Only one week left, but I am burned the F out. I haven not been alcohol free during that entire period, but I have limited my intake. And the eating part has me worn out. I want nothing more than a Johnny's pizza and a pitcher of Budweiser.

I'm still going. I stopped the Monday before Mardi Gras.

But, don't some believe that because there are 45 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter, and Lent is 40 days, that there are five non-Lenten days during the time period? Cheat days, so to speak.

I was born and raised Catholic and the older I get the more ridiculous that religion and catholics become.
