I had an Uncle that served in a tank during the war. He was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. Never brought it up. He would not discuss it with his family. Truly was one of the happiest, funniest cut-ups I have ever known. If the topic came up though, he became a different person. Real quiet. Like you flipped a switch.
