Here's my take; she obviously prayed and asked God to be forgiven, which he did immediately. Not only did God forgive her, he forgot about it. Your friend, is putting himself above God when he can't put it behind him, and forget about her past, ( which she willingly shared with him). I have heard it said before, and I would share this with him. Christians are the ones who kill their wounded.

Yes. I got out of debt. It was terribly embarrassing, and I enjoyed zero seconds of it. I did get to hit an a-hole with my shoe, though.

Was this The Gold Club in the mid 90s in Baton Rouge? During Mardi Gras?

Either he's still not over his wife and sees this as his emergency exit, doesn't like this woman as much as he claims he did, or he's just a straight up dickhead.
I promise you it took a lot of nerve for that woman to come clean about a past she's not proud of to him.
Your friend is acting like he's in his 20's. Older people with maturity typically reach a point where they understand that most people their age have been through some sort of shite and are just trying to finish life as happily as possible.

So she is 56, which means she probably was a stripper at least 30 years ago, yet he is so high and mighty he cant overlook that? The guy sounds like a major douchebag.

ya, no, strippers and hookers are a bridge you cant come back to.
once you cross those bridges there is no coming back, they just quit because no one wants them any more or they would still be doing it

It seems odd that you're totally disregarding the more important aspect of the TWO things listed about this woman while calling this guy a douchebag.

that's rather specific.

My understanding, she was in her early 20’s. Something that happened a long time ago and bears nothing on the person she is today.

This lady was a drug addict going into her mid 40's. I find it ridiculous the amount of people trying to shame this man for not wanting to pursue this relationship.

Forgiveness does not mean you have to marry the person. If someone was lying to you about a used car you are about to buy doesn't mean you have to buy it. You can forgive the lying but that doesn't mean to can't say no.
This is correct. Forgiveness is a decision of the mind, heart and will. It does not mean after forgiving that you must embrace the person and their bad behavior all over again.
My closest cousin, five years ago, said some nasty stuff on FB about my mother. I have not communicated with her since. I forgave almost immediately, but that does not mean we have to become besties or what-have-you.
Great screen name, by the by.

These guys don't believe me. Can you explain to them about strippers and drugs? Also, tell them about the handies and beej's in the VIP room. And last, let them know why all the dollar ballets have a crappy motel with a 2 hour rate, in close proximity. TIA
FFS.
I never took drugs. There were dancers who did way too many drugs. I remember a couple being sent home because of drugs or booze., which pissed me off because a whole shift of dancing is tough physically, and it doesn’t get easier when someone gets sent home. If people were fricking outside of the club, they were not me. There was no hotel that had hourly rates anywhere near where I worked.
It was not the proudest moment of my life. At the time, it was the means to an end.

Guaranteed there are hundreds on this website who have refused to date someone for things much more trivial than being a former drug addict sex worker

I once had a client that was an RN but about 15 years before she had been a stripper and very much involved in the life and all of the bad habits associated with the life. It follows you unfortunately. Whereas she had kicked drugs and booze, she said the temptations of that life were very seductive especially the drugs.....so easy to get and she would periodically run into former co workers or regulars who never kicked the life and she would be the first to admit that she was generally one step away from using again because thee were some aspects of the life that could be "fun" . She stayed clean because as an RN at this particular hospital they would randomly test her.
Her biggest problem, though was that she became a heavy smoker which she said just about every stripper was and it was the only thing she could not kick and of course she went into a high stress occupation like nursing and that it was the smoking that caused her more problems

The more money he has, the higher quality woman an older feller can procure.
I know poor men in their late 40s that pull extremely awesome women. It boggles my mind. I have a friend that doesn't have a full time job, and he probably has 5 women on speed dial that will drive over to his house and frick him when he wants.
