That crap made me want to kill myself.

I would cough from 10 PM till 5 AM nonstop. No sleep and all my back muscles were sore making it painful to cough.

Steroid shot, Antibiotics and Codeine syrup. Took a good 3 weeks to get back to 80%.

All the time. And i use the same treatment.

Every morning, just to one side of a steaming mug of black coffee, I pour myself a big bowl of suck-it-the-frick-up.

Merry Christmas.

I'm over 4 weeks on this. Flying with all that head congestion was hell. Another week of this and I should be done. I've never went to the doctor for a shot and I am 36 years old. This stuff was bad. Hope everyone and their families get well. Thoughts and prayers and shite

I fought it off with 6-10 grams of vitamin C a day for a week.

This and Echinacea.

It's in our house in GA, too. I actually got over it after 3 weeks, felt good for about a week, and then apparently got it again. Not sure how that works as I should have built up some level of immunity after the first bout.

Wife and son are awful. My baby girl has remained basically unscathed outside of a rough week...which is fricked up because I'm prettty sure she's the one that brought it home from school.

Went to doc last week, they gave zpak and Prednisone. Yesterday was my last dose. Still feel like crap.

Of course it didn’t “work”. You have a VIRUS.
Antibiotics will do NOTHING for you.
I’d imagine that >95% of you posting in here and your family have viruses.

You’re wasting your time and money, but as a medical provider, I thank you for the job security.

you won’t get any money from me.

With a virus you can only treat the symptoms. I can pretty much do that at home. I’ll come in if I suspect it’s the flu just to get Tamiflu to hopefully shorten the duration of the flu.

There is an ebb and flow to this one. You think it is gone or one the way out and then it has a resurgence

I tell patients all the time whether it’s them or a family member (usually a child) that’s sick that it takes some work.

You have to know which medicines to take for the correct symptoms and you have to be taking them on a schedule all day. Most people take one medicine in the morning and maybe again at night. Often it’s not the best medicine for their symptoms.

When I get the crud, I keep a bag of about 5-6 different meds with me or in my truck all day. Nasal sprays (saline and a corticosteroid (Flomax, etc.]) cough drops, sore throat spray, sinus decongestant, chest expectorant, allergy med with pseudoephedrine (the one behind the counter)...

I swear by my Vitamin C and Echinacea to stay crud free but when I do get it, I bring out the big guns like you.

Saline spray is an underrated treatment. It really helps if you do it steady.

I been taking the whole line of tonics from some company called Andi Lynn’s. An apple cider vinegar, elderberry and a cough remedy. shite really seemed to work and I’m tin no way big in to natural medicine. So some of you baws might wanna get that from the health food store. I got it in Gonzales.

95% might be treating the wrong thing, but allergies have been bad across the South this Fall. People get allergy related sinus infections all the time, but think they have a virus.
