My company is getting a lot of calls today saying they had a missed call from us

All day long, my company is getting calls saying they had a missed call from us but asking around the office, nobody is making them. I think we may have had our number spoofed or something. Is there someway to find out? Like - is this a common thing I don't yet know about? And if so, has any of this ever happened to y'all?

You are correct in that it sounds like someone spoofed your number. Hard to track bc I doubt the calls are originating from your carrier. In any case I would contact your carrier and see what they say.

I would imagine Wendy’s is high on the list of companies to hack and spoof call from now that school is out.

Are you a fry cook or do you work the counter?

Pretty ingenious actually. Have you made any new sales?

Stop doing this. You’re an adult.

Your number has likely been coopted by a telemarketer or some other telephone scammer.
Contact your carrier.

it's been happening at my office for a week now. very annoying. I just got off the phone with a guy. I assured him that no one from my office called anyone named lil jupe (or something similar). he wanted to argue with me about it.

Love when this happens. Then you explain how number spoofing works and they're still mad.

I try to make a sale when they call. After telling them the number was spoofed. I also don't understand calling back a random number that maybe left a 3 second voice mail if you missed the call.

When is the phone companies going to do something about this? You would think by now they could of figured it out.

I have been having same problem since last week. Some dirtbag must have set up spoof. Thinking I will have to change my number. People telling me my number comes up as "Potential Spam" now on their caller ID.

My office phone, which I haven't used in two years, got a voicemail (Cisco Unity to Outlook) last week from some super pissed off woman in South Georgia why I was calling her phone, and she even knew my name, which was the weird twist.

So we’ve established you’re a teenage girl.

I called someone today asking if they called my number, because I received 2 calls back to back and figured it was probably a customer of mine.
They were so confused

Spoofing known company numbers might indicate the efforts to block random numbers might be working.
I know Verizon rolled out a little app that allows you report Spam, telemarketing, and scammer calls a few months back, it can also be set to filter and rank (low med high) known bad numbers. Pretty effective and getting better, it blocks 8 to 10 calls a day, with 1 or 2 getting through (but they get reported).
