I’m going to assume you mean Myron who has a history of doing that. Make no mistake, he is the person actually running things around there. For example, any letters emailed to the department from the chief were always sent from Myron’s work email. Murphy Paul is a petulant child who is over his head and has been since Day 1.

I seen it happen before where people get extremely overconfident and things go down hill very quickly.

If so, that probably means that the higher ups were hoping to boot the case rather than have a conviction of one of their own guys.

No, they don’t think that far ahead. They think they’re the smartest people in the room. Many bridges have been burnt because of that attitude, but they don’t care one bit.
