Other side of Comite River. Not Baker, more like Central.

Mind you, fellas seemed like Bakerians.

Obviously some Miles supporters vs. Les Haters.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone on TD knows this family, as it looks like a lot of them live around BR.

Rodney was a good friend, a good man and I never saw him lose his temper. I don't know the 3 brothers, but all 4 of these guys were neighbors and knew each other very well. Not sure exactly what happened, but looks like they had an argument, Rodney went home and the 3 brothers decided to go to his house and confront him. I assume Rodney felt threatened and defended himself. What happened next and why, who knows. Boggles my mind. To those making random uneducated comments based on location and circumstance, check yourself, this could have been someone you know.

I'm convinced every southern white male has a personal limit of how many times they can take hearing Freebird! after which they snap and kill everyone around them.

booze and guns can make for a lethal combination. You'd think by the time these guys got into their late 50s/early 60s they'd have figured out how to work out their problems in some other manner.

he could have this time.

they had an argument, Rodney went home and the 3 brothers decided to go to his house and confront him.

Then you lock your door and call the police. You don't come out of the front door blasting.
Unless they broke into his home.
You just have to have more common sense than that,if he did indeed shoot and kill them for coming to his home to confront him.

don't know. This thread is purely internet speculation. I'm not going to pile on your dead buddy. Just wouldn't be a cool thing to do.

I am in total agreement. The only way this guy would have ever shot anyone would have been in self defense. Tragic and dumb.

i live in a prett ynice middle class area as well. Was at a friends home one night when a dude came over and was literately beating the door of fit's hinges, screaming, wanting me to come outside. I was standing on the other side of the door with my firearm yelling to him that he had better not come thru the door or else he was going to die. Told him numerous times while we had Sheriffs office on the phone. They could hear me issuing verbal warnings to him over and over again.

I did not know the man and he was obliterated drinking whiskey. I didn't want to kill anyone that night. Ole boy left and was picked up later by the Sheriffs dept.

All lived to tell the story.

It does sound like it was self-defense (even if it went a bit overboard), but I don't get why he would then turn the gun on himself. I'm assuming they only found one gun and angle of shots and such indicate suicide. But all this speculation isn't helping anyone, so I'll stop now.

I' m sorry for your loss.

Or if he was shitfaced, went home and started blasting music, and then shot the guys that came yelling at him to turn it down.

Sounds like just a tragic situation with a lot of alcohol, guns, and emotion. Add in only 13 passes on offense, and it is just a recipe for disaster.

Only 3 pages ?

TD always disappointed when the perpetrators aren't minorities.

As usual most guns wind up killing the owners , owners family or friends.

Pretty sure the vast majority of guns never kill (or are even used to kill) a single human being.
