New Orleans East is now home to a brand new 24,000 square-foot, indoor amusement center called Optimus Entertainment.
quote:
The official grand opening was on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9820 Lake Forest Boulevard. City leaders attended a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. The entertainment complex offers unlimited fun with more than 50 exclusive games to choose from, as well as, two laser tag arenas, bumper cars, a 12 seat, 12-D interactive theater, a soft play indoor toddler playground with a ball pit and six party rooms to rent for parties and corporate events. Guests can also expect a full service restaurant.

The space had been vacant since Hurricane Katrina and now takes on a new life thanks to investors who pumped more than $4 million into bringing it back into commerce.

They will run it into the ground.
Look at what they did to Chuckie Cheese and Dave & Busters

Sounds a lot like “Entertainment 720”

Man, I really wish them the best. That's an act of extreme faith... could be an act of extreme faith in bankruptcy protections, for all I know.
Hope they succeed though.

I went to D&B for the first time a few weeks ago for a drink before a concert. The place is appalling. There was trash everywhere, not a single working toilet in the women’s restroom, and it smelled like a sewer. Not to mention the amount of parents that dropped their kids to be babysat. Never again.

Sounds like an awesome new place to get murdered

With all of the money in New Orleans East my only question is - what took so long?

Rugrats everywhere. The commercials also made me think it was adults only. Nawp.

The locals will just come in to figure out how to wreck it, then sue someone and proclaim victimhood.

Yep, we are about to spend a bunch of money to revitalize Plank Road in BR. It won't change the people that turned it into a violent hellhole in the first place though so I'm not sure what it will accomplish. It will be back to the way it is now in 5 years.

I wondered how that D&B turned out.
My lack of desire to be banned requires me to step away in search of the wine, paint and stripper thread.

Not if they implement the Roving Sniper Program. Place 6 snipers in a different location each night. Have them shoot anyone observed committing a crime.
Chart the dropping crime statistics. Win/win.
