its 98% efficiency... what am I missing
The dudes at Generac state that but I could never get any IE data to back that up. Their IE report was always, "about to be finished." I'm also not a fan of moving away from MLPE for resi.

i just moved into a new house last year and would love to get panels but idk how long im staying in this house. 3-7 years. Whats yalls experience on recouping the investment? and are warranties transferable.

fair enough, but generac is a solid, well established company specializing in backup power. theyll be around and supporting their warranty 10 years from now.

I personally wouldn't do that unless you need to offset a big tax bill or are so green and love to virtue signal that its important to you. And for that short a period absolutely do not do a lease or PPA unless you want to have a hell of a time selling your house.

if youre wondering payback, lots of factors. how much do you pay on average for electricity (per kWh)?
how big of a system, how much rebates do you get, how much irradiance... etc. long story short get a pro to come check your site out,

Talked to the guy checking it, he was worried about losing his job due to the new tech.
Unfortunately, he's probably right.
At my work, we are asked by out client to promote self help tools which will no doubt lead to our own demise. It feel like we're making the rope to eventually hang ourselves.
Btw, that's awesome that you took the time to write an email in support of him. People are quick to complain, probably write an email or FB post when the meter guy leaves an accidental rut in the yard or makes the dog bark and wakes up their kid, but often remain silent when things are exceptional. I did the same for the Cox guy a few years ago. I had a reoccuring issue that 2 Cox techs didn't properly troubleshoot and fix even though I told them what was likely the problem. The third guy came, found the root cause but it was late in the day. He came in on his own time on Saturday to perform the last step because he didn't have his extension ladder that day. Really good service which is unheard of at Cox.

I actually quite like some of the guys there, other than them trying to shove unproven efficiency numbers into my simulation engine. And I do trust the company, they obviously have solid backing. Once they chilled on the production numbers it got a lot easier. And I really like the stackable cell tech. I can't recall which inverter company they bought, but it was basically those dude that were a bit of a pain in the arse to deal with. Their marketing dude was freaking out on a call about production and throwing a tantrum like a child. We lol'd, then plugged in SE's number until they could prove otherwise. One thing I worry about is most simulation engines ability to accurately capture an optimized multi-string system and the TSRF variables in a resi install.

I don’t know about the spying BS but my Entergy bill was over $325 for the 1st time ever in January. It’s usually less than $100.
Holy shite! that is insane! Assuming you have an average size home, there is no way in hell you should be paying $345. Is this just for electricity? (I am asking because I pay all utilities all on one bill and mine was $118.. I get it from the city I live in, which gets it from Entergy),

Computers have too much power, and in the hands of greedy fricks like Entergy and progressives, Americans lose.

I better not see one democrat asking questions about this. We should just trust what they tell us and move on.
Right?
Right?

Our January bill was only $48....lowest it has ever been.
Although we were gone a week at Disney.

Not itemized on a lot of Entergy bills.

Could it be that the old meters were inaccurate and depended on rotating dials that were not calibrated properly or were in houses so long that they went out spec reporting inaccurate power usage.
If metered usage has gone up 2-3x then I think they need to lower rates. You're "paying more for the same product".

Who do I call to complain to?? Our bill is $250 more this month than last .. that's insane when our usage is as I see it no different.
