I went to see it when I was in high school in 1997. I remember going up the mountain and just seeing how beautiful the land there was. Then you reached a certain point where they stopped with the repairs/cleaning and letting “nature take its course”. It was still barren. I also remember one of the lakes that forgot any gas engines and the water was crystal clear.

people that wrote the article are full of crap; they never found his body or film he preserved under his body. The blast swept him and the observation post off a ridge 6 miles away. They renamed the ridge "Johston Ridge".
