Mt Rainier v Mt St Helens...

And include Mt Baker. I posted on travel board but there’s not much traffic over there.
Question is, which is best for people who don’t ski? This is just for sightseeing and outdoors experience. We would be driving from Seattle for a day trip.

Only been to Rainier, but it was nice and the Paradise Inn was great. Pick me up another tee shirt.

When you going? Rainier might be under 20 ft of snow right now.
I went to both back in April of last year, but couldn't see either due to low visibility. Totally sucked.

Rainier is a LOT closer, and more scenic, unless you're super interested in the geology of a recently active volcano. Both are worth a visit, but if I could only do one, I would do Rainier.

You should ask on outdoor board. I've climbed Mt Rainier on the recommendation of a poster that lives in the area. He hikes all of them.

Consider driving to Anacortes, WA and catching the Auto ferry out to San Juan Island. Beautiful out there, where Free Willie was filmed. Spend the day out there and then stay overnight or catch the last ferry back to mainland.

It depends on what you're looking for. I've summitted Rainier but it is an intro to serious mountaineering expeditions. I climbed with RMI, an outfit that does trips to Denali and Everest. It is not a ski trip, it is a training ground for people who want to climb in the Himalayas.
But it's beautiful even from a standard National Park facility. If you aren't interested in serious climbing the view from Paradise is top notch.

Just go to Mt. Si. It looks like a big old chode, and the diner right there that was the inspiration for the one in Twin Peaks is dank as hell.
Rainier is dank as hell and you can see it from my house when the weather is clear. Never been though. Just like looking at it in the distance, and saying forlornly to myself, like some medieval shepherd, that I will conquer it one day.

St Helens is a long way from Seattle. Do Mt Baker, it's just outside of Bellingham between Seattle and Vancouver. You'll not be able to summit Baker or Rainier though

Yep. Rainier is very dangerous. It isn’t a hike.

I’m not trying to summit these bitches, just wanting to do some trails in the parks themselves.
I’m out of shape and live on the Texas Gulf Coast...so climbing up 10,000 plus feet is not happening lol

There's a 5 mile round trip trail on Baker that gets you to a glacier. Moderate with a little elevation gain

Homeboi you don't even need to go to any of these places to do dank arse trails in the Seattle area.
If you want to do something in Seattle itself, Discovery Park is great. If you want to go to the Cascades, Snow Lake is super easy, and it is right next to Mount Si. In Mount Baker Natl. Forest I liked the Heybrook Trail, and the Bridal Veil trail. Both were super easy. So is Barclay Lake. There are a shite ton within one park that are cool and unique.

I’ve been to Mt. Ranier on a clear day. Also, I was on a flight to Seattle once and I could see all of the mountain ranges. Cool as shite.
