I have worked at MSY for 26 years. There are good workers at the airport. But it’s a business where a few bad apples can occur. There is annual employee training that each MSY employee must go through.

I apologize for anyone who has had a bad experience at MSY. Please let the airport administrators know about your interactions, both good and not so good. We certainly appreciate your travels at MSY.

My sincere apologies.

Getting off your phone and go helping get the baggage out in a reasonable time would mean more than your typed words.

Sir, I am not at work today. I work as a contractor and I do not work inside any terminal or concourse.

I hear your concerns and will foreword any problems to the airport director and aviation board.

How is the airport now? Haven't been since last Feb, before the COVID crap, Loved the new terminal nice.

We flew out for new years and it wasn't as bad as the stuff I heard on here. I was expecting much worse. Granted we departed & returned in the 5-6am window.

Going thru security took like 10-15 mins, and baggage claim was smooth & much faster than Denver. It was clean and easy to read signs & get around. I like that MSY is smaller than most airports with a simple layout and only two terminals.

We had a layover in DFW and believe it or not, that place is 10x worse. Old and ugly. Boarded the plane and had to wait 2 hrs to take off because the luggage crew was switching shifts and just left the hatch open with luggage hanging out

MSY is the landlord not the operator of the individual services such as concessions and baggage handling. MSY therefore the city doesn't hire the people you are complaining about. If you complain about the toilet not working or condition of the grass on the infield then you can call out msy.

MEM airport is very similar. It's not as big, so the issues are negligible.

Haha. Just read your post after I posted my comment. Totally agree! I flew out of MEM every other week pre-COVID.

CLT and DFW are my favorite airports by far.

With that being said, my interactions with BTR employees - even TSA - have always been pleasant.
When possible, I’d fly out of BTR any day over MSY!!

The more I think about it the more I see the fallacy in my own argument, however every airport that now comes to mind is a lot nicer than MSY.

This is one of many reasons I don’t fly.... I’m already nervous and then you gonna put me on a plane that has to wait two hours to take off??????? Nope...........

yea it was rough... they did give us stale crackers and a juice box though to calm us down.

the worst part was having to keep your mask on for 2 hrs waiting to take off, then another 2 hrs during the flight.

I flew into MSY last weekend. The bathroom I used is already starting to show signs of wear and tear. Broken tiles with chunks missing, faucet spouts lose and no longer centered over the sink, etc. Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised to see that new terminal falling apart in a few years if they don't keep it up.
