Weight savings, damage protection. Will not dent or nor crack according to GM.

Why do GM trucks look so low to the ground?

because they are, relative to the competitors. I miss the height of my GMC 3500, but I do appreciate not having to step up into my truck.

I walked on the lot and told them my price range and that's what they showed me. I hadn't even came across the red truck yet, but knew elsewhere I could get a four door truck for around the same price with not that many miles on it.

MSRP is laughable on GM vehicles these days. 70k means you really pay like 55k which is the same price as a maxed out tundra.

You aren't getting $15k off MSRP for a Denali.

Several dealers advertise them around $12k or so off. I'd bet you can get to $15k off with a few of them. You won't get that on this new one right away, but next year it will be no issue.

Hmm, as long as they can make it impact resistant, then it would be much lighter than a steel alternative. I just wonder what it will look like after dropping a few bricks or a load of rocks back there. If it doesn't chip and crack then yea it's a great idea.

They just wanted to move that particular unit.

$70K still gets you, square wheel wells over round tires.

It boggles my mind that someone would spend 70k on a vehicle if they have ANY debt to their name.
Just buy a 3 year old similar truck for half

It doesn't work that way, but these same cliche posts in every vehicle thread never get old.

The price I paid for a Silverado 1500 LT Texas Edition and the price they wanted at the dealership for a new bare basic, single cab 1500 were the same

You paid too much for a used truck.
You can get a new 2018 Silverado LT Texas edition in any color you want for $15000 off MSRP right now.

They've been doing $10-$15k off Texas editions for years. And that's before you even walk in the door and start haggling.

They never do the big discounts on basic/work truck models

Rims can make the truck look completely different. Generally GM rims are nice looking, but those are straight booty.
