Jerry J. Kan, 58, was booked with first-degree rape after his arrest Monday (Aug. 29), according to a Mandeville Police Department news release.
Police launched an investigation Aug. 25 after receiving information about alleged inappropriate contact between Kan and a resident of Beau Provence Memory Care and Assisted Living, 100 Beau West Drive in Mandeville. Investigators determined Kan had resigned from his job at the facility Aug. 23.
The investigation further revealed Kan had sexual intercourse with the resident inside of her room at the facility on Aug. 21, according to the news release. Kan, who had been employed at Beau Provence since April, was booked with one count of first-degree rape.
