Nah, I'm just being honest (aside from the satire in the OP). I don't see a need to exaggerate by saying ridiculous things like "tribalism is worse than ever."

Worse than the 1930s when eugenics was a popular movement in the US and one of the reasons why many were, at first, not opposed to what Hitler was doing in Germany? When Jews were denied the ability to come to the US as refugees because they were seen as dirty and subhuman by many Americans. Worse than when actual Hilter had his movement in Germany, Franco was ruling Spain, Stalin was ruling Soviet Russia, Mussolini was ruling Italy, etc.

It's a stupid statement by someone probably trying to show how "open-minded" they are.

Than ever? Like more than when people were in actual tribes and before globalism?

No it's not.

It's not more rampant than ever.

You either don't know your history or you don't know what tribalism is.

It's pretty clear you don't.

Don't know which? History or the definition of tribalism.

Let's agree to this definition. The one you posted

quote:

the behavior and attitudes that stem from strong loyalty to one's own tribe or social group.

Now that we've agreed on that. Let's talk history.

Do you stand behind this statement:

quote:

Tribalism, it's more rampant than ever

As in worse than anytime "ever." As in, it's historically at its worst.

Absolutely. We're split as a country along social strata more than ever.

1) We're not split as a country more than ever
2) That's not what you originally said

1) Let's start with the Civil War. We can work our way forward (or backward if you prefer) from there when it comes to a polarized "American" culture or society.

2) You said "Tribalism, it's more rampant than ever." You didn't say "in America." But please refer to point (1) if you want to pretend like you were being specific to the US. That might actually make this a quicker discussion.

It's why my Spanish lineage shows North African genetics and not Subsaharan.

Why do these people think that every group of people originating in Africa are black?

Bc they're fricking retarded. They also think Moses, Jesus, Hannibal and others were black.

Dont make this about you.

They will, however; look at my penis size and it would be hard to convince anyone I am not black... If you know what I mean.

You'd rather resort to this than discuss the actual topic. So I'll help you stay on topic

The US is currently more split as a country than during the Civil War? Is this the argument you're prepared to make?

2017 America has more tribalism than 1800-1900 America?

Is this what we're doing?

If we had the same lesser power in the federal govt right now as we did in mid 1860 we would split into 5 or more nations.
