Of all the stupid ways we humans choose to segregate ourselves, skin tone is the most idiotic.

And it ain't close.

George Washington Carver was actually white. Here's empirical evidence to prove it:

The dude was born in Austria. You might as well start saying that white people don't really exist and Europe is really populated by black people.

This is true when you are talking about people of the same culture.

But by and large, people of different skin tones represented different cultures. So it was natural to segregate in these ways. And I do mean self-segregation.

I'll add that it's a natural part of evolution to be distrusting of someone of a different skin color. It was the first signal that someone represented a different culture. It promoted a cautious approach to encountering and dealing with different cultures because they would tend to have their interests in mind as opposed to your own.

Yep. Seems weird in this century we're still stuck doing just that.

Why do these people think that every group of people originating in Africa are black?

Because every black person in America calls themselves African American and we call all Native Americans Indians.

In America, we do not give a frick about factual genetic background and history. We never have.

Some folks have a vested interest in perpetuating pointless animosity. I'll never understand it.

Tribalism, it's more rampant than ever. People claim to hold multiculturalism sacred while clinging to their own (not just race) and hating on everyone who doesn't look and think like them

Than ever? Like more than when people were in actual tribes and before globalism?

No it's not.

If Mozart and Beethoven were black, Rosa Parks was probably Korean, they just added the s to her last name.
