Moving a pool table from Metairie-Covington

Sell it, make the buyer come pick it up, then buy a new one and have it delivered

My folks moved one about 15 years ago. We/they just called the billiards place where they originally bought it.

They charged around $200 back then, iirc. Which is the same price they charged for setup/installation.

This was for a fairly nice slate table. Well worth the $$ because they disassemble and reassemble it and make sure it's setup perfect, level, no wrinkles in the felt, etc.

If the felt needs to be replaced, this would be a good time to do it.

Edit. Holy shite, looks like either prices have skyrocketed or I was way off on what I remembered. I was thinking it was $200-300. But like I said, it was 15+ years ago. And the place that did it was the nicest place in the area. shite. This was only bottom floor to bottom floor too btw.

Buying a new one with install and leveling will be cheaper

We got a lot of use out of ours when my sister and I were in HS. After we went to college it just became the most expensive laundry table in the neighborhood.

Having a room big enough for one is the trick. You don't want to cram it into a room where you're going to be bumping into people as you walk around or bumping the butt of your stick into the wall.

Brunswick and Oldhausen are a cpl of the more popular brands. The older the Brunswick the better as I believe they sold the company some years ago and the quality went down on the ones made in the last cpl decades.

With it being her grandparents, if it's a Brunswick then it's probably an older and more valuable/higher quality (just a guess).

There are other manufacturers, obviously, those are just a cpl of the most common.

If it isn't slate, I wouldn't frick with moving it, tbh.

I have a work truck with a lift on the back that could easily move it, I just want to do it right. I've never fricked with moving a pool table.
